FAQ

  • What's the difference between JOMO bamboo bed sheets and other brands?
The main difference between JOMO bamboo bed sheets and other brands lies in the GSM (grams per square meter) of the bamboo fabric. While many brands offer bamboo sheets in the lightweight GSM category of 118 or 135, they often emphasize the thread count (300TC) without mentioning GSM, resulting in thinner and less durable sheets. In contrast, all JOMO bedding products are crafted from medium-weight 156 GSM bamboo viscose, making them thicker and more robust compared to the 118 or 135 GSM products commonly found in the market. This difference* is validated by feedback from large bamboo bedding manufacturers, highlighting that JOMO's commitment to quality sets them apart. * Confirmed by two large Bamboo bedding manufacturers in China: "Most of our buyers normally buy 118 GSM", and "Not every customer's requirements are as high as yours, so the proportion of fabric sales weighing 156 grams is relatively small".
  • Are your sheets free from toxins and harmful chemicals?
Our sheets are certified under the stringent OEKO-TEX Standard 100, ensuring they are free from toxins and harmful chemicals. JOMO Bamboo bed sheets are meticulously created using pure bamboo viscose, free from any blend with other fibers or fabrics. Bamboo also has the added benefit of being grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, making it a more greener choice.
  • Are your products suitable for people with skin problems, and infants?"
Our Bamboo Viscose fabric is hypoallergenic, breathable and free from harmful chemicals. Our products are suitable for every skin type, including sensitive acne-prone skin, eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
  • Do bamboo sheets shrink?
Our closed-loop bamboo viscose sheets are pre-washed and pre-shrunk. That said, we do not recommend drying your bamboo sheets using high heat. The best choice is to line-dry them.
  • Do bamboo sheets pill?
If you follow the proper washing instructions, they will not pill. But if you wash your bamboo sheets in hot water (never do that!) and dry in high heat (never do that!), then yes, the fibers can turn fragile and tear or pill. The cold water setting is between 80 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7-15 degrees Celsius).
  • What's the thread count of your sheets?
Our Bamboo Viscose sheets boast a thread count of 300, which is equivalent to an impressive 1,000 thread count in cotton. However, it's crucial to note that when choosing sheets, factors such as the quality of the raw fiber, fabric density (GSM), and the sheet weave are more vital determinants of quality. Notably, JOMO stands out by offering the thickest (heaviest) fabric with a substantial 156 GSM, ensuring superior durability and comfort.
  • How do I care for my bamboo bedding?
CARE GUIDE * Machine wash in Cold water with mild, liquid detergent. Delicate or Gentle setting. * Line dry or tumble dry low. * Warm iron. Wrinkles should disappear with time, so ironing is not necessary. * No fabric softener is needed, they are already super soft and will stay that way wash after wash. * Do not bleach. Try a mild, eco-friendly pre-soak and stain remover or vinegar and baking soda for removing light stains.
  • How long do bamboo sheets last?
100% bamboo sheets are extremely eco-friendly, and can last up to 10 years or longer when taken proper care of. In comparison to cotton, which lasts only 3-5 years, purchasing bamboo bedding is a great choice to save money over the long run.
  • How does JOMO brand align with vegan values?
At JOMO we are 100% vegan and cruelty free. Real silk production is so mis-aligned with the values of those who are vegan or trying to live more ethically. Bamboo Viscose as ‘vegan silk’ easily covers two things: the incredible texture of the fabric and the ethical, sustainable way it’s made. Bamboo Viscose fabric is smooth and very soft, so this makes it a great alternative to silk, it's similar to touch but without the harm and not as shiny. VEGANS CAN HAVE SILK, TOO! :)
  • How does Bamboo compare to conventional cotton?
Bamboo is a more environmentally friendly choice for fabric production due to its sustainable growth. The fiber yield per acre from bamboo is up to 10 times higher than cotton, and it requires less than 1/10 of the water that cotton needs. This makes bamboo a more resource-efficient and eco-conscious option compared to cotton.
